Ray Allen - Life goes on !

Ray Allen, Shooting Guard of the Boston Celtics, compares in this scene Basketball with life:



"I think Basketball is like life. When things go bad for you, you know, there is another game. When you miss a shot, you got another shot !"

The essence of this quote is actually a biblical principle. All the great people who were anointed by God had to withstand struggles and endure some really hard times. But instead of giving up, they kept holding their head high, ´cause: Life goes on !

Look at Joseph, he got excluded by his family and experienced slavery at a really young age. But did he give up ? No !

Look at Peter: He denied Jesus. But did he give up ? No !

Look at Paul: He was severely prosecuted and suffered enormous physical pain. Did he give up ? No !

Look at Job (Hiob): He lost literally everything. Did he give up ? No !

And if you take a closer look at the final destiny of those characters, they all ended up as blessed people.

So let´s never turn our back towards God, even though we have to endure really hard times:

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
